Precoordinate Registry entry

Specify whether a term selected in a Thesaurus has its hierarchy precoordinated to it, i.e. any broader terms are prefixed to the term (separated by hyphens).

Usage

This Registry entry can be assigned to users and groups:

Key User User Group Group Group Group
Key 1 User User Group Group Group Group
Key 2 user user group group Default Default
Key 3 Table Table Table Table Table Table
Key 4 table Default table Default table Default
Key 5 Thesaurus
Key 6 Precoordinate
Key 7 column or Default
Value boolean

where:

column

is the back-end name of a column in which precoordination of terms is allowed; or use Default to allow precoordination of terms in all columns in the specified table(s).

boolean

is:

true

The Thesaurus is searched for all broader terms of the current term, joining them in hierarchy order as a prefix to the current term.

For example, if C has a broader term B which has a broader term A, this setting will result in the following text being displayed when C is chosen: A-B-C.

false

Only the selected term is displayed.

Note: it is unnecessary to create a Precoordinate entry for a Thesaurus with this setting as false is the default setting for a Thesaurus.

Note: If this entry is not present for a Thesaurus, a setting of false is assumed.

Example

To allow precoordination of terms from the Thesaurus:

Key Setting
Key 1 Group
Key 2 Default
Key 3 Table
Key 4 Default
Key 5 Thesaurus
Key 6 Precoordinate
Key 7 Default
Value true
